Project goal – development of a comprehensive document “Standards for Design and Construction of Water Infrastructure”, which will define the standards for design and construction of water supply, sewerage and wastewater treatment facilities in Ukraine..

This document – a sectoral plan for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine’s water infrastructure. In the future, compliance with the developed standards will be a prerequisite for effectively attracting global capital for the implementation of complex water supply development projects.

The development of comprehensive design and construction standards is a particularly important issue, as it demonstrates compliance with the principles of Ukraine’s recovery adopted at the Lugano International Conference and the Action Plan for the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.

Project implementation plan:

  • Organisation of expert meetings (October – December 2023)
  • Development of the document “Standards for Design and Construction of Water Infrastructure” with the participation of Ukrainian and European experts (January – June 2024)
  • Promotion and implementation at local and national level (January – August 2024)
